This template for one-digit routes is for creating an external link the Texas Department of Transportation's highway designation file located on the TxDOT website.

To use this template, type the following:
- {{1dihdf|type=SH|number=4}}
This would appear as:
- Highway designation file for SH 4 at the Texas Department of Transportation website.
Business routes in Texas — types BI, BU, BS — have a letter suffix to distinguish between the routes in different locations. Add this letter to the number parameter.
For a one-digit business route, type this:
- {{1dihdf|type=BS|number=6R}}
This would result in:
- Highway designation file for BS 6R at the Texas Department of Transportation website.
Since this would typically be used in an External links section, preface it with an asterisk ("*") and you're ready to go.
type is the Texas Department of Transportation 2-digit code for highway types:
- SH — Texas State Highway
- SL — Texas State Highway Loop
- SS — Texas State Highway Spur
- BS — Business route off of Texas State Highway
- RM — Texas Ranch to Market Road
- UR — Texas Urban Road
The following are also valid type codes, but there are currently no one-digit highways of these type in Texas:
- IH — Interstate highway
- BI — Business route off of Interstate
- US — U.S. Highway
- UA — U.S. Highway alternate route
- BU — business route off of U.S. Highway

Due to web directory structure at the TxDOT website, the template does not work with Texas Farm to Market Roads.
