1 Night in China is a pornographic movie featuring wrestling personalities Sean Waltman and Joanie Laurer and was released by Red Light District in 2004. The title of the movie is a play on words, as Laurer wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation under the ring name Chyna (pronounced China). (A similar sex tape featuring Paris Hilton, also distributed by Red Light District, was entitled 1 Night in Paris). While Waltman and Laurer were engaged at the time they filmed the movie, they broke up before it was released.

[edit] Plot

The movie features scenes of Laurer and Waltman taking a guided tour of China, intercut with footage of the pair participating in anal and oral sex acts, with special emphasis on an anal sex scene, which serves as the climax of the film. Waltman appears to be high on marijuana during most of the film, something which he himself alludes to at one point.

[edit] Distribution

Laurer and Waltman approached the Red Light District in late 2004 to distribute the tape.[1] The film sold over 100,000 copies.[1] According to the company, both Laurer and Waltman shared in the profits.[1] Because of the film, Laurer received a career boost, even appearing as a cast member on The Surreal Life on VH1.[1]

[edit] Response

The video became an internet phenomenon, due largely in part to a scene in the film in which Waltman performs cunnilingus on Laurer, causing the camera to focus on Laurer's unusually large clitoris, which also appeared to have a fully formed glans. A doggie style sex scene between Laurer and Waltman revealed severe acne on Laurer's buttocks, which some bodybuilders who viewed the tape pointed out as a telltale sign of heavy steroid abuse. The anal scene seemed to be something added to the sex tape so it would have a proper ending.

In January 2006, the film won an Adult Video News Award for the Top Selling Title of the year.[2]
