1998 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONCACAF)

Listed below are the dates and results for the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for the North, Central American and Caribbean zone (CONCACAF). For an overview of the qualification rounds, see the article 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification.
A total of 30 CONCACAF teams entered the competition. The North, Central American and Caribbean zone was allocated 3 places (out of 32) in the final tournament.
There would be three rounds of play. Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador and Canada, the 6 best ranked teams according to FIFA, received byes and advanced to the Semifinal Round directly. The remaining 24 teams were divided into 2 zones, based on geographical considerations, as follows:
- Caribbean Zone: The 20 teams played in knockout matches on a home-and-away basis to determine 4 winners advancing to the Semifinal Round.
- Central American Zone: The 4 teams were paired up to play knockout matches on a home-and-away basis. The winners would advance to the Semifinal Round.
In the Semifinal Round, the 12 teams were divided into 3 groups of 4 teams each. They played against each other on a home-and-away basis. The group winners and runners-up would advance to the Final Round.
In the Final Round, the 6 teams played against each other on a home-and-away basis. The top 3 teams would qualify.

Dominica advanced to the Second Round by the aggregate score of 6-4.
Bahamas withdrew, so Saint Kitts and Nevis advanced to the Second Round automatically.
