VES Kanda is not the name of the car. It was built in 1986 as an Australian intepretation of C1, but used the commonplace and rather too thirsty for the regs 6.0 litre small block Chev. The name came from a combination of initials of the owner (Bernie van Elsen) and constructor of the car (K & A Engineering: bernie Van ElSen K AND A engineering.
