[edit] Riccardo Paletti

An interesting mention for Riccardo Paletti as representative driver for one team, some five years after he was killed! Does anyone have any idea of how his name got here? A sure bet for deletion, surely. MRacer 12:31, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I think that "Paletti" should read "Patrese" as Riccardo Patrese drove for CiBiEmme Sport in at least one round of the 87 WTCC. Refer http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jong/Races/1987%20Monza.html

Many thanks. Well, I've altered the table in any case in accordance with that evidence. D'oh... MRacer 23:06, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Missing footnote?

What does the Asterix (*) next to drivers such as Roland Ratzenberger signify? Independents? Thanks --80.4.6.146 (talk) 23:01, 9 December 2007 (UTC) db1987db

[edit] Disqualifications

Why are so many drivers disqualified in the first race? --SpeedKing (talk) 13:08, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

The Texaco Sierras has illegal engine management system IIRC and pulled out before the race, but all the factory supported BMW M3's (at least half a dozen) had carbon fibre bootlids instead of the legal metal ones. Cheating was rampant during the first WTCC, the championship changed hands because of a disqual appeal that was finally decided three months after the series. Should go into a report on that race. --Falcadore (talk) 14:05, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
