This could be a disaster if attempted to implement, but it would be nice if rule changes were listed not only as they started, but also how long they lasted Autkm 05:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, we could add cross references to the other "Major rule changes" sections on the NFL season articles. For example, currently on 1986 NFL season#Major rule changes on the entry about the then-new instant replay system, it is mentioned that it was repealed in 1992.
