[edit] Collateral damage in diacritics edit war
The constant reversal of the natively spelled names of people with diacritics in their names has also caused two names to be misspelled not because of diacritics. Ari Haanpää's name ends with only two vowels. Even if you insist the letter ä is a redudant Euro-snobby luxury, the spelling "Haanpaaa" is incorrect in any language. Even more importantly, there are no such names as "Jartto" or "Piipatinen". The guy's name is Jarkko Piiparinen. I get 605 Google hits with the correct spelling and 8 with the incorrect one, all from Wikipedia mirrors. JIP | Talk 16:46, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
