[edit] Circuit Name

The comment "held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve" is somewhat innacurate since that circuit only bears that name since 1983. I'm not sure what name it held in 1981. Montreal Circuit ? Notre-Dame Island circuit ? 216.144.124.171 03:26, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Mike Lang's Grand Prix! Vol 4 indicates the circuit was renamed Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in time for the 1982 race (about a month after Villeneuve's death). So I've updated the race location (to just "Montreal") in this article and also 1980 Canadian Grand Prix; this is consistent with the 1978 and 1979 race reports. Good pickup, by the way! [edit] Assessment

I have assessed this as a Stub Class, as it does not go into any details about the event at all, and of low priority as it a highly specific topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 15:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
