The 1989 League Legends Cup is an annual rugby league match between the Canberra Raiders and the Wests Tigers. The match is played to remember the 1989 Grand Final, which is considered the greatest Grand Final ever by many people. The grand final was actually between the Raiders and the Balmain Tigers, but since the Tigers have merged with the Western Suburbs Magpies the match is between the Raiders and the merged team, the West Tigers. The match played for annually is decided by both teams on one match between the two teams during the year. The first Cup match was round 5 of the 2008 NRL season.[1]
