From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 1989 Auburn Tigers football team, coached by Pat Dye, finished the season with a 10-2 record and Auburn's third SEC Championship in a row. This season also marks the first time that Alabama ever came to Auburn to play the Tigers on Dec. 2, a game that Auburn won 30-20 and that remains in the center of Auburn lore. Auburn went on to win the Hall of Fame Bowl and finished ranked #6 in the nation.
