- July 5, 1987: Kevin Mitchell was traded by the San Diego Padres with Dave Dravecky and Craig Lefferts to the San Francisco Giants for Chris Brown, Keith Comstock, Mark Davis, and Mark Grant. [2]
- September 8, 1987: Rob Nelson was sent by the Oakland Athletics to the San Diego Padres to complete an earlier deal made on August 30, 1987. The Oakland Athletics sent players to be named later to the San Diego Padres for Storm Davis. The Oakland Athletics sent Dave Leiper (August 31, 1987) and Rob Nelson (September 8, 1987) to the San Diego Padres to complete the trade.
