In Ken Hatfield's third year as Arkansas' head man, the Hogs finished with a ranking of 16 in both the AP and UP polls.[2]
Arkansas played well during the season and made it to the Orange Bowl game.

Dual threat Quarterback Greg Thomas led the Razorbacks in both rushing and passing. This is not unusual for an option offense.[3]

Senior wide receiver James Shibest led the team in receiving statistics for the third straight season. Shibest is currently the Tight ends/Special teams coach for the 2008 Razorbacks.
