The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers season was the team's first season. Prior to the season they drafted Lee Roy Selmon who as of 2007 is the only major contributor to the Buccaneers in the Pro football hall of fame. They did not score until their third game and came within seven points on just three occasions. Running back Louis Carter had the honor of throwing the team's first ever touchdown pass. As of 2008 it is the most recent time that an NFL team has gone winless for an entire season.
