1974 was the 14th year of season play for the Minnesota Vikings and the 55th regular season of the National Football League. The Vikings won the NFC Central as they finished with a record of 10 wins and four losses. The Vikings defeated the St. Louis Football Cardinals, 30-14 in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game, and the Los Angeles Rams, 14-10 to win their second consecutive NFC Championship, both games were at home. However, the Vikings lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl IX, 16-6 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans.
