• August 3 - Tommy Douglas is elected leader of the newly formed New Democratic Party
• December 28 - Canada's first BOMARC Missile squadron is formed. The Co-operative Commonwealth Federation becomes the New Democratic Party

CCF became NDP on 12.28, so how can Tommy Douglas become the leader of NDP on 8.3? Jackzhp 22:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
