The 1969 edition to the Sugar Bowl featured the 4th ranked Georgia Bulldogs, and the 9th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks.
Montgomery threw a 27 yard touchdown pass to Chuck Dicus as Arkansas opened a 7-0 lead in the second quarter. Georgia got a safety to pull within 7-2. Arkansas got a 34 yard field goal from White to lead 10-2 at halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, White kicked field goals of 24 and 31 yards in the fourth quarter as Arkansas won 16-2. Chuck Dicus was named Sugar Bowl MVP.
