  • A conference of opposition parties in Dacca, forms the National Democratic Front and announces an eight-point political program that called for limiting the federal government powers to defence, foreign affairs, currency and federal finance and inter-provincial communications and trade. It also called for a parliamentary form of government elected on the basis of adult franchise.
