The 1960 Boston Red Sox season involved the Red Sox finishing 7th in the American League with a record of 65 wins and 89 losses.

In 1960, the Boston Red Sox finished 32 games back of the New York Yankees. [1] Manager Billy Jurges was replaced by Mike “Pinky” Higgins. [1] Ted Williams would retire at the end of the season. In his final at-bat, Ted Williams hit the 521st Home Run of his career. [1] Williams finished the season with a .316 batting average at the age of 41.[1]
