[edit] Citywest

There certainly is "need for an argument" as there are clearly divided views on this matter. Please do no revert the established state of the article (and especially the categorisation) without discussing it on the article Talk Page and getting consensus. [edit] SIE

Greetings 195967222; I see we have met before. Sandyford Industrial Estate; as indicated in the article. Often used as shorthand 'cos the full version is a bit of a mouthful; like IFA, CIA, KGB and so forth.

Sorry for missing that. I feel a little stoopid, as I used to work on Bracken Road in the horrible place, but we never called it that, but then again, we were none of us locals.
Aha - previous meeting looks a little uncomfortable on the topic of industrial estates, or business parks as they have been rebranded. I still cannot visualise such places as anything other than parts of greater localities but life, and Wikipedia, contains greater debates.
It is amazing to see this patchwork quilt of a document grow and develop, and on balance, more knowledge is good, although I still think there is a little too much opinion knocking about. 195.96.72.22 05:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, being local I can say that (unlike in the case of Citywest) nobody considers the SIE anything other than part of Sandyford - maybe simply because of the name; it was developed by the Local Authority originally, which may have saved us from having a suburb called "City Southeast"! The name Industrial Estate is universally used (no re-branding except by some estate agent scribblers in the property pages); and, ironically it isn't really an industrial place any more.
Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder; I think it is the most interesting place architecturally in South Dublin. And I live on the high ground overlooking it about a mile away.
I agree there is too much opinion...most of it nimby-type anti-development from what I can see! (Sarah777 12:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC))
