User talk:195.93.21.70

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Image:Info-pictogram.png Attention:

This IP address, 195.93.21.70, is registered to AOL and is shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts will be made to contact AOL to report abuse.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. However, you will still be unable to edit Wikipedia while the IP you are using is blocked.

For everyone who hasn't yet worked it out

This is an AOL proxy server address, it is a shared address that LOTS of users come through. You cannot point blame to anyone using this IP address because the person who did the vandalism has probably had their IP changed already. Therefore, The person who actually vandalised the page will probably never see any of this and blocking this IP would potentially stop thousands of users from accessing Wikipedia. Hope that helps.

Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Mark Ellman may not be well-known enough to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. By starting an account or logging in, each user is entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects. Shanes 19:35, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Please do not vandalize articles. This sort of offense can include inserting nonsense into articles, blanking articles, or otherwise changing articles with obviously unwanted content. This serves no other purpose than creating more work for Wikipedia's editors and administrators. If you do continue, your account and/or IP will be blocked. Kelly Martin 13:09, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Veritas

Hey.

Thanks for your edits to the Veritas (political party) article, they seem good and useful.

If I could maybe offer you a little advice, then could you please add new content to the main article prior to the 'external links' subheading (shown by '==External Links==' in the editing window), then it would integrate better with the rest of the article.

Also, if you could provide a source for this information (hence allowing verification) then that would also be most appreciated.

Good luck editing Wikipedia! -- Neo 21:21, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

yours, mystified,

The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Cathy Barry

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Cathy Barry, by Valrith (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Cathy Barry seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Cathy Barry, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Cathy Barry

An editor has nominated Cathy Barry, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cathy Barry (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:36, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
