1959 Masters Tournament

The 1959 Masters Tournament was contested from April 2 to April 5 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 23rd Masters Tournament. 87 players entered the tournament and 42 of them made the cut at five-over-par (149).

Art Wall shot a final round of 66 including birdies on five of the last six holes to pass 12 players and win the Masters by one stroke.

This was the first Masters that Jack Nicklaus played in. He shot 76-74 (150) and missed the cut by 1 stroke.
