1954 VFL Grand Final

The 1954 VFL Grand Final took place on September 25, 1954 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between VFL clubs Footscray and Melbourne. The crowd of 80897 people saw Footscray win by 51 points, earning their first and to date only premiership.

Footscray scored 39 points in the first quarter and were comfortably in front for the rest of the game, Collins kicked 7 goals for the match and John Kerr had 32 disposals.
