The 1953 Masters Tournament was contested from April 9 to April 12 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 17th Masters Tournament.
Ben Hogan broke the Masters Tournament scoring record by five strokes with a 14-under-par 274. The record stood for 12 years. Hogan shot four rounds of 70 or better.
