1950 NBA Draft

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1950 NBA Draft consisted of 12 rounds with 121 players selected. This was the first draft after the merger of the Basketball Association of America and the National Basketball League, thus making it the first true NBA Draft. The first overall pick was Chuck Share, though Paul Arizin had been selected earlier as a territorial pick. Four future Hall of Fame players were born of this draft, with those players being Arizin, Bob Cousy, George Yardley, and Bill Sharman, respectively.
