1949 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament

The 1949 Division I Baseball Tournament was the third NCAA sanctioned baseball tournament that determined a national champion. Texas would go on to win the championship, their first of 6 championships.

The tournament was divided into four regional brackets, Region A, Region B, Region C and Region D, with each region consisting of two teams playing a best-of-three game series.
Region A: St. John's (New York) defeated Boston College two games to none.
Region B: Wake Forest defeated Notre Dame two games to none.
Region C: Texas defeated Oklahoma State two games to none.
Region D: Southern California defeated Northern Colorado two games to one.
The winner of each Region moved on to the 1949 College World Series, played in Wichita, KS.
