1949 BAA Draft

The 1949 BAA Draft consisted of 8 rounds and a regional selection period, with 75 players selected. This was the final draft before the merger of the Basketball Association of America and the National Basketball League. The first overall pick was Howie Shannon, although Vern Mikkelsen and Ed Macauley had been taken before the draft as their teams' territorial picks.
