[edit] Stanley Cup engraving

Jack Adams (Manager-Coach) was suspended during the playoffs, so injured defenceman Ebbie Goodfellow served as Coach during Adams' suspension. When the cup was engraved, Adams was listed as Manager and Goodfellow as Coach, even though Adams was officially the Manager-Coach. Johnny Holota's name was originally left off the Stanley Cup. He was added to the Cup when it was redone during 1957–58 season, even though he played only 12 games, and did not play in the playoffs.
