[edit] Your edit to Talk:Jehovah's Witnesses
The definition of pacifism, according to Merriam-Webster's online dictionary is, "1 : opposition to war or violence as a means of settling disputes; specifically : refusal to bear arms on moral or religious grounds; 2 : an attitude or policy of nonresistance". Jehovah's Witnesses specifically are NOT opposed to violence to solve world problems or settle disputes, because they believe (and pray for they day when) the spirit creature Jesus and an amry of angels will bring the destruction of Armageddon upon disobedient humans, destroying all other governments and exercising the rule of the heavenly kingdom over the earth. They do not take part in violent actions in governmental or political affairs because of their belief that Jesus' words to 'remain separate from the world' applies to involvement with human rulership, as the Kingdom to which true Christians are singularly loyal. As to personal defense, read below:
- The September 8, 1975 Awake! (p. 28 Should You Defend Yourself?) stated this: "If flight is impossible, the individual may be able to reason with the assailant. But, at other times, trying to reason with a person determined to inflict injury may lead to loss of valuable time. The situation may be such that the only thing a person can do is to use whatever is at hand to protect himself or others. As a result, the attacker may receive a fatal blow. From the Scriptural standpoint, the one acting in self-defense would not thereby incur bloodguilt."
- And in advice to youths, the September 22, 1995 issue (p. 14 Should I Learn Self-Defense?) stated: "When diplomacy fails, however, you must take steps to protect yourself. If a group of youths demand that you give them your sneakers or some prized possessions, give them up! Your life is far more precious than the things you possess. (Luke 12:15) If violence seems imminent, walk away—better yet, run away! “Before the quarrel has burst forth, take your leave,” says Proverbs 17:14. (Compare Luke 4:29, 30; John 8:59.) If escape is impossible, you may have no choice but to ward off violence as best you can. Afterward, be sure to let your parents know what happened. Perhaps they can help out in some way."
I hope this is more clear. - CobaltBlueTony 15:57, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
