Editing Guidelines |
Please remember these guidelines when editing a film article:
- If a non-film article already exists with the name of the film that you are trying to create an article for, disambiguate and use (film) in the title: Film Title (film)
- When writing an article about a particular film, the general format should be a concise lead section, followed by a plot summary of no more than 900 words, production details, a cast list, a reception section, and references.
- Create an Infobox that tells all pertinent information about the film.

[edit] Please don't put a forced linebreak at top of template
Virtually all stub templates have a known spacing problem, and people have simply learned to space stub templates with 2 blank lines in the article after whatever precedes them (usually categories), to keep them from butting up against the content when the page is rendered. If you do this in the template itself, it is going to make it hard to get the spacing correct someday when the spacing problem in the templates is fixed by a bot, and the doublespacing in the articles removed by a bot, because this template and its usage in articles will no longer be consistent with the rest of them. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 21:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
