The 1923 Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1, 1923, and lasted until November 30, 1923. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin.

The 1923 season was an average season with 7 tropical storms, of which 2 became hurricanes and one became a major hurricane. The season began late with a tropical storm forming southwest of Bermuda on August 30. A hurricane threatened the East Coast of Florida, but turned out to sea. A tropical storm came from the Pacific, crossed the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and became a hurricane to hit Louisiana in October. Four other tropical storms roamed the Atlantic in October.
