[edit] Season information
Chicago Cubs ran away with the National League losing only 36 games and winning 116. They were lead offensively by Third baseman Harry Steinfeldt whose 176 Hits, .327 BA and 83 RBIs were all a team best. In addition Steinfeldt stole 29 bases. The pitching is what won games for the cubs though. The pitching staff of the Cubs consisted of Ed Reulbach, Carl Lundgren, Mordecai Brown and left-hander Jack Pfiester. As a team the Cubs Pitching staff (including relievers) had a 1.75 ERA.
