1896 World Figure Skating Championships

The World Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters compete for the title of World Champion. The 1896 competition took place on February 9, 1896 in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was the first World Figure Skating Championships to be held.

Only the men's event was contested and just four skaters participated.
