I downloaded this image from http://www.stbrides.com/history/fire/engine.htm, which has no specific information about it at all. It's also reprinted in Neil Hanson, The Dreadful Judgement: The True Story of the Great Fire of London, 1666, which supplies the facts that it's a 17th-century engraving and is kept in the Royal Academy of Art. I'm trying to find out more about the exact age and what it was for. It looks like an ad, as the book version has this legend right across the picture: "These Engins, (which are the best) to quinch great Fire; are made by John Keeling in Black Fryers (after many years Experience) Who also maketh all other sorts of Engine."
