17th parallel north

The parallel 17° north is an imaginary circle of latitude that is 17 degrees north of the Earth's equatorial plane.
Starting at the prime meridian and heading eastwards, the parallel 17° north passes through:
- Mali;
- Niger;
- Chad;
- Sudan;
- Eritrea;
- The Red Sea;
- Saudi Arabia (the Farasan Islands and the mainland);
- Yemen
- Oman;
- The Indian Ocean (Arabian Sea);
- India;
- The Indian Ocean (Bay of Bengal);

- Thailand;
- Laos;

- The Pacific Ocean (South China Sea, passing through the disputed Paracel Islands, to the south of North Reef and to the north of West Sand and Tree Island);
