[edit] 2001 film

Sorry, I accidentally reverted the edits you made to the article 2001: A Space Odyssey (film). Looks like some good stuff in there, probably needs to be made more concise. – Dreadstar 15:18, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2001 Synopsis

By consensus, the current synopsis is monstrously over long. Your edit -- which simply re-added information trimmed away months ago by various hard working editors -- made the section even more grotesquely extended. The details in question are comparatively trivial and do not assist the general reader with an understanding of the film's narrative. Any/all additions to the section should be done with care. Before making any additional massive changes to the article, please discuss your proposed edits on the talk page. Also, please familiarize yourself with wikipedia's policy regarding the proper length for plot outline, located here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines. Thank you-Hal Raglan 22:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

You are now in violation of the 3 Revert Rule. You have reverted three times within a 24 hour period to an earlier version of the 2001 synopsis that had been greatly reduced months ago by numerous editors. Your actions may be made in good faith but you need to familiarize yourself with the various wikipedia guidelines and also make attempts to work with other editors to improve articles, not simply ignore clear consensus and blindly make changes that only you yourself seem to feel are necessary. Since you appear to be fairly new to wikipedia and possibly completely ignorant of policies, I will not report you this time. However, since you've been warned, any future violations will be reported.-Hal Raglan 22:26, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Also you need to familiarize yourself with wikipedia's rules regarding civility. If you disagree with other editors, do not attack them as being "facist", as you did on my talk page. Your recent reverting to a synopsis that is months old, and had been previously trimmed by multiple editors in response to a consensus on the article's talk page, does not necessarily convince me that your edits are truly good faith attempts to improve the article. In the future, if you wish to be taken seriously, please refrain from further insults.-Hal Raglan 01:38, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR violation

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2001: A Space Odyssey (film). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. – Dreadstar 02:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Considering this edit;[1], I would also suggest reviewing the Wikipedia guideline WP:Civility and the policy on WP:No personal attacks. – Dreadstar 02:17, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edits

Honestly, I really think you have a lot to offer the 2001 (film) article, but you absolutely have to follow the Wikipedia rules and work with other editors to achieve consensus. I'm happy to help! – Dreadstar 02:30, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of warnings and comments on Talk pages is considered vandalism, please don't do it in the future

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:172.190.32.51, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. The edit I'm referring to is here - David Spalding (  ) 15:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
