Hi, I have restored the trivia on Barbara Pierce Bush that you have recently deleted. Please dont delete text (which had sources) as a form of retribution for other peoples actions; i.e. two wrongs dont make a right. I will now look into the trivia that you added earlier to see whether I think it should be also added back in. John Vandenberg 09:05, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I think that mentioning Hail to the Thief was vague and hard to justify, as the band have stated that the title wasnt directed at Bush. Instead, I've tried to hit the nail on the head more directly by stating that they are openly critical of the Bush administation, and backing it up with sources. Let me know what you think. - Hey John, thanks... to be honest I really don't care, and it's probably not something that should be in the article at all, I just added it on a whim, so on second thought maybe best to keep the whole thing out if it'll be contentious (I guess I also don't particularly feel this fact needs wide airing, unless others do, as a fan of Radiohead :) ).
What annoyed me was just that rather than deleting the whole item of trivia (which was, obviously, quite trivial- Barbara's music taste, I mean how much more trivial does it get) the editor only deleted the part that would actually be likely to interest a reader, which looked like a pure POV sort of decision to me (not that the band's political beliefs make Barbara look bad, but some might interpret it that way I suppose). I wouldn't have added it at all if not for the "political" fact, and it wasn't original research either because Yorke (the band's singer) explicitly commented on the oddity of having her at the concert in the cited blog post. But anyway, let's just get rid of it completely!! You can do what you want, though, it's probably the first and last time I'll look at Barbara's entry. 172.144.0.252 11:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, something else. it really SHOULD be deleted in the absence of a more specific citation, because that one doesn't specify which Bush daughter was at the show. It's pretty well obvious it was Barbara Bush, and I seem to recall seeing some mention by someone who was actually there. But it wasn't explicitly stated it wasn't Jenna.
