From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Attention:

This IP address, 170.148.10.46, is registered to Chase Manhattan Bank, and may be shared by multiple users. If the organization uses proxy servers or firewalls, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block may be shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please see here.

If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation.
IT staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you were just trying to experiment, then use the sandbox instead. Thank you. --Vyzasatya 22:02, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Can you please scan the relevant info from the book you mentioned in Kamma article so that necessary correction to the article can be made --Vyzasatya 19:33, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Cognizant Technology Solutions

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Cognizant Technology Solutions, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you have a different opinion regarding the contents of an article on wikipedia please post in its respective talkpage rather than vandalizing the main article.--SomeStranger (T | C) 11:56, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Additions to "Hippie"--Pejorative Connotations

Perhaps you misunderstand what Wikipedia is. It is a place where one may add to the information available about a certain topic. It is not the place to offer criticism, or praise, for a certain group.

Obviously you consider former hippies to be self-important, self-centered nostalgia freaks. You may be correct in this assessment, but that is beside the point. The word "hippie" does not have this pejorative connotation, which is what this section is about.

Please refrain from personal ruminations. Thank you. Founders4 17:07, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Who is this I.P.

{{helpme}} (Actually, this is registered user ScouterSig asking a question on behalf of this IP user).

This user has a history of vandalism, but also some good additions (or at least, some minor additions that are productive). How can we check if this IP has multiple computers, etc.? I don't know the rules on any of that. Scoutersig 16:14, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

According to the WHOIS the IP address is owned by The Chase Manhattan Bank. I suspect the address is the proxy for the company. That would mean multiple users. I'd suggest no long-term blocks and only using the "IP-only block." ---J.S (T/C) 16:21, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
I sent an email to the Chase Manhattan people. Hopefully the will encourage thier users to play nice. :) ---J.S (T/C) 16:31, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I'm in contact with thier abuse department. ---J.S (T/C) 00:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I'm a Wikipedia user. You are correct. This IP address is used by multiple users here at my company. Unfortunately, I have no way to track down the culprits who made those comments (I'm just a normal employee). -A.S. 08 April 2007
