- 1 March - Mark Kenton Sr. (d. Oct. 16 1783 while traveling from Virginia to Kentucky a short distance from the Monongahela River)
Note: one of Mark Kenton Sr.'s sons was Simon Kenton, who later became a famous frontiersman.
