School IP address Attention:

This IP address, 168.9.210.14, is registered to Georgia Department of Education and may be shared by multiple users of an educational institution. If the institution uses proxy servers, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason a message intended for one person may be received by another. Similarly an innocent user may be blocked for another user's vandalism. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please read our advice on this situation.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block with the template {{schoolblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of persistent vandalism from this IP address, anonymous editing may be disabled for up to 1 year at a time. Abuse reports may also be forwarded to your school administration for investigation.
School staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

Thank you for experimenting with the page List of people by name: Brown on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

[edit] Heightened Vigilance Request

_ _ I urge heightened vigilance for this account's edits, in light of the vandalism ratio and the full-month survival of one vandalistic edit.
_ _ This IP address has been used for 8 editing sessions, of which 6 [I will recount in light of a subsequent moment of clarity.] were clear instances of vandalism (and one was a presumably honest bad editing judgment). The subject matter of several sessions suggests its contributor may be associated with an Atlanta-area school, perhaps Clark Atlanta University, suggesting it may be a shared IP associated with that school (and thus that the pattern of edits will not offer a profile of a single editor), a possibility that others may wish to pursue in the usual fashion.
_ _ I also note the use of 68.219.7.3 (talk • contribslogsblock userblock log), primarily for vandalism thematically similar (i.e., presumably fake or n-n alums) to some of this vandalism. It may be another shared IP, used by the vandal (or one of the several vandals) using this one.<br>--Jerzyt 17:58 &21:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
I erred in including the 'graph i have just struck out, directly above. The resemblances reflect common subject-area interest, and there is no vandalism by the other editor, User:68.219.7.3. (I misunderstood the other editor's citation of 1996 graduation date as a birth year, indicating a sub-teen which would have paralleled several LoPbN entries (mentioned above) by this talk page's IP user, covering teenaged athletes.)
--Jerzyt 21:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

  • New count on IP's contribs: 7 (not 8) edit sessions. With the most recent first:
  1. 2 articles, both changed by replacing legitimate existing entries with teenage athletes;
  2. legitimate existing material replaced by utter nonsense & abusive PoV;
  3. plausible alum entry (wikified by next contrib, another IP);
  4. 2 articles, both apparently well-meant edits;
  5. insertion of peripheral, all-caps, abusive PoV;
  6. "New Orleans" added, outside any sentence and without any sign of attempting to understand what role in article its placement would give it;
  7. vanity and attack entries for birthdays of 3 15-year-olds.
I construe these as 4 sessions of vandalism (in italics); 1 careless at best; and 2 presumably responsible contributions; besides miscounting the total edits, i had previously construed as vandalism one of the responsible contribs.
--Jerzyt 08:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

LoPbN is not abt unknown teens, but encyclopedically notable people, and even additions of those must not remove existing, legitimate entries. Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to List of people by name: Ol-Oo. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

[edit] Water

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Water, are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. [edit] Your Edits to United Nations

Your edits to United Nations have been removed. Again. (diff) If I had the power to, I would block you. But I can't block you and when I try to report vandals, no one pays attention. I could make more threats, but who cares? You'll end up getting blocked and your edits will be reverted. There's no point to vandalism. Why would you want to hurt a not-for-profit, educational enterprise like Wikipedia? You may think it's fun, but in reality it's just plain mean. Please stop. If you want to make "fun" edits, go to Uncyclopedia. It's a really fun place to edit. Good luck in life. Have a nice Valentine's Day! --Think Fast 17:00, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
