I removed the USCGA website from the Geocaching article. Please list it at List of geocaching organizations instead. ju66l3r 17:53, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sinbad

Why did you post that Sinbad had died? It looks like your contributions have generally been on the level, but this is criminal. Wikipedia is fragile enough without this kind of thing occurring. NjtoTX 14:10, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your edit. Wikipedia needs some accountability. 204.90.50.252 15:02, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

  • taken from history of the Sinbad wikipage:
    • Hoax started before us. Read the section in the article. -- Zanimum 20:28, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
    • The article claims that the rumor started before Wikipedia, but it links to an article which says the rumor seemed to have come from a hacked-into page on Wikipedia. So perhaps the rumor did start with the vandalized page here? - Brian Kendig 20:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
      • It gained popularity once there was a link to us, but he started receiving sympathy calls last Saturday. Thus it started before us. -- Zanimum 21:03, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edits to Sinbad

Please stop immediately. If you continue to vandalise pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Sinbad, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This is your last warning.--CastAStone|(talk) 16:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About "Vandalism"

For Wiki, Vandalism is "a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia", and that a "good-faith effort" to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, "is not vandalism". "Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia. For example, adding a personal opinion once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated."

This was not vandalism, but an honest mistake. Was the offending post the first to falsely report the post, or were there any before? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.4.119.170 (talk) 19:34, 17 March 2007 (UTC).

I really have to question the anyone can edit policy here. It's like leaving cans of spray paint around, and anyone with several IP addresses or dynamic IPs can just do whatever they please and run off. What is so terrible about merely asking contributors to register? NjtoTX 02:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
