[edit] Blocked Again
Blocked
- You have been blocked from Wikipedia for repeated vandalism. If when the block expires you continue vandalising Wikipedia this account could face longer blocks, and action could be taken against the individual who uses this account. Karmafist 03:00, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked yet again
I've blocked you for a month because you just don't learn. If you repeat this childish behavior, you may find yourself blocked permanently. Why not learn how to be a useful contributor? User:Zoe|(talk) 00:16, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked for vandalism of Wikipedia
≈ jossi ≈ t • @ 03:31, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
I believe that the blocking is justified but would like to request it removed anyway. The IP address belongs to our school and we have only just realised that some of our students have been vandalising pages on wikipedia. We would like the opportunity for staff to edit pages and so would appreciate our IP being removed from your blocks.
We have now hopefully blocked students from vandalising by adding the string "action=edit" to our url filter, we do not want to block students from accessing wikipedia all together as it is an excellent resource. If you feel that there is a more appropriate string for us to block using our URL filter please let us know. Also if the vandalism continues to occur please contact us by going to the contact page on wccs.nsw.edu.au and emailing the head of the computing department.
If it is possible would we also be able to get the usernames of the people who have vandalised your pages from our IP address so we can attempt to track them down.
We are happy for everyone (including students - who are the reason we exist as a school) to edit however wikipedia keeps blockiong our IP address due to the actions of one or two students. If you can suggest a way whereby we can block the offending user rather than having everyone from our IP address blocked (for a month at a time) we would welcome the suggestion.
Otherwise we will have to block the string as described above in order to limit the damage those who are adding/editing pages on this site are doing. Please try to be more constructive than a pesonal attack.
- Well if the identity and time students go online are known, comparisons with the contribution log of this IP might help narrow the field. --Alf melmac 21:32, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Thank you alf ... that has helped. Is there any way we can find out which entries on the contributions page were actually vandalism entries. From the text above I can see the editing of the Elizabethan page was vandalism (we have checked the logs and seem to have found the student who edited that page) but the other offences don't seem to list the page that was vandalised.
Are we able to have our block removed but have the option of only allowing registered users to edit pages. Ie. No anonymous editing from this shared IP address. That way both students and staff who wish to edit the pages would be able to and those who just want to vandalise the site would be placed in the position of having their own accounts blocked rather than all from our IP.
- Unfortunately, there isn't, but such a software feature has been proposed. I'll unblock this IP address for now. —Guanaco 01:06, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- To find out if an edit was bad, you can click on the (diff) links on the User contributions page. It's slow, but we don't have a feature that indicates reverted or lowly rated edits on the contributions page yet.
- Some of the edits actually removed vandalism, like the 2006-02-23t00:12:04z edit to Tutankhamun.
- Thanks for looking into this, most schools simply ignore all the vandalism done from their computers. -- Jeandré, 2006-03-11t05:18z
