Hi, I am looking into this. If you need further help, please don't hesitate to post on my talk page or to put {{helpme}} followed by your question on this page. -- lucasbfr talk 23:02, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- The image claims it was taken in 1903. If you have proof it was taken after 1923, please tell me on my talk page. But otherwise it is most probably in the public domain. You may also contact our volunteers at info-en(at)wikimedia.org Please in any case stop editing the article, this constitutes vandalism. Thanks. -- lucasbfr talk 23:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I said that writing in the article constitutes vandalism. My opinion is that if the picture was taken before 1923 it is in the public domain and therefore free to reproduce. I am not a lawyer though and my best advice is to contact us by email. Please also note the the colors are very different between "our" and "your" version, which makes it improbable it was ripped from your website. -- lucasbfr talk 23:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have looked into the issue and I determined the photograph is in the public domain due to age. The photograph was taken in 1903, well before the 1923 cutoff, so it is public domain according to United States law. We will not remove the image from Wikipedia. [edit] Photos of commissioners
You might want to take photographs of each of the commissioners and upload them to Wikipedia or to the Wikimedia Commons at http://commons.wikimedia.org/ --Eastmain (talk) 22:37, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
