[edit] Utah War
Re: your concerns about recent edits. I simply shuffled the US troop numbers to the topic sentence under Troop movements, and BBlunder is addressed under Consequences. Drop another note in if you have additional concerns. Thanks....WBardwin 20:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Seer stone
It is appropriate to state that the LDS church is in possession of one of the seer stones possessed by Joseph Smith:
- "DEDICATION OF THE SEER STONE ON THE ALTAR OF THE MANTI TEMPLE
- One item mentioned by President Woodruff about the private dedicatory services at Manti is of more than passing interest. "Before leaving," he writes, "I consecrated upon the altar the Seer Stone that Joseph Smith found by revelation some thirty feet under the earth (ground), and carried by him through life." This is the very Seer Stone that the Prophet Joseph Smith used part of the time when translating the Book of Mormon; the one he took from the well he was digging with his brother Hyrum, near Palmyra, for Mr. Clark Chase, and which he was falsely accused of taking from the children of Mr. Chase, spoken of in chapter x of this work."
You can read this in Comprehensive Hisotry of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, vol. 6: p. 230, B.H. Roberts Hope this helps. --Storm Rider (talk) 22:40, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The English farce
Further discussion is found at User talk:Storm Rider#The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ
- This group is currently impossible to get any sources for its reality or the size of its membership. When I read the website I almost get the impression that it is a farce...The Book of Mormon as if Dr. Seuss had written it? That type of drivel leads me to think it is simply a fellow having a go with an overactive imagination.
- Given the lack of sources for the group, it would be hard to call it a denomination. If sources can not be identified I would support deleting the article and thus the question of removing it from Latter Day Saint movement is moot for right now. --Storm Rider (talk) 18:47, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
See my comments on this at User talk:Storm Rider#The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. I have seemingly done the "impossible". –SESmith 22:22, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Elder Faust.jpg
I reverted your edit to Image:Elder Faust.jpg for two reasons. First, this is an image description page, meant for providing information on the image. Birth and death dates should go in the article James E. Faust and should not normally be put on image description pages. Second, Template:Non-free fair use in is for use only when there is not a more specific tag available. Here, the more specific tag {{Non-free promotional}} should be used. Finally, it's rather pointless to change == Heading == to ==Heading==. The only important thing there is that one style or the other is used consistently throughout the page. —Remember the dot (talk) 02:14, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Response at User_talk:Remember_the_dot#Image:Elder_Faust.jpg
- (replying to message on my talk page) – I suppose that if you really want to have the birth date in addition to the death date, that's fine. And Image:Elder Faust.jpg#Licencing won't work, it's misspelled. Try Image:Elder Faust.jpg#Licensing. Note that I re-added the whitespace to show you that section links work just fine whatever the spacing. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:21, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tabernacle Organ
Thanks for your clean-up. It looks great. You're one of the first if not the first besided me who's done any constructive editing. Carter | Talk it up 22:00, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
