[edit] Spelling

Ignore all the above stuff (that's from other users on your ISP). You're doing great spelling work. Would you like to get a username and help out some more? JFW | T@lk 18:09, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Great copy-editing on Gluten. Keep up the good work. As Jfdwolff says, why not get yourself a username? That might reduce any flak you might get from other people that share your IP. --Slashme 06:57, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] October 2005

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for the contributions! We're always happy to have new Wikipedians with a serious interest in improving articles! As you can see, we're also very keen on maintaining a neutral point of view (or NPOV) in all articles. Unfortunately, some of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's NPOV policy, and have been reverted. There's a great article about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. We thank you for your interest in helping Wikipedia to be well-rounded in its presentation of controversial subjects, and look forward to being able to fully incorporate your contributions! - jredmond 17:25, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
  2. Please do not keep undoing other people's edits without discussing them first. This is considered impolite and unproductive. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. Thank you. - jredmond 17:31, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
  3. Find a source for your assertion that disco was 'a mirror on their absence of character and talent', and rephrase it in an NPOV manner, and it can stay. Otherwise, I will continue to remove it. - jredmond 17:22, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
  4. I've come here bacause I saw you are involved in a revert war on DISCO. I think the best thing to do all round is to remove all speculation as to motives and simply state the facts that everyone agrees on. Hopefully this will end the matter. Theresa Knott (a tenth stroke) 18:31, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
    • I have blocked you for 24 hours for violating the Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. You did this in the following series of edits on Disco. one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and nine In addition, the html comment in the last of these edits is seriously PoV and uncivil, particualrly when an uninvolved admin was attmepting to calm the edit war. After your block expires, please return to editing in a more constructive frame of mind. DES (talk) 18:55, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

  1. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Johnleemk | Talk 18:13, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
  2. Indole edit: Please don't keep changing "six-membered" to "six-member". The former is the commonly accepted term in chemistry. See the Indole talk page for discussion. Walkerma 03:15, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
  3. I strongly recommend that you read up on the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Although many of your edits have been very helpful, almost as many of your edits have changed good English grammar, wording, and style into flawed grammar, wording and style. Specifically, here are some questionable changes (with text you removed in struck text, and text you added in bold):
    • More importantly, his mother, Atia Balba Caesonia, was the niece of Rome's greatest general and de facto ruler, Julius Caesar.
      • "Importantly" is required, as the verb has adverbial force here. "Important" is colloquial in this context. You made the same mistake with "Had Augustus died earlier (in 23 BC, for instance), matters may have turned out different.", etc.
    • "butchered without compunction.".
      • Please read the MoS entry on quotations. Periods only go inside quotations when they are complete thoughts.
    • Octavian could not simply give up his authority without risking further civil wars amoungst the Roman generals
      • The correct spelling is "among", not "amoung" or "amoungst". Your comma change immediately after this line is also unhelpful.
    • Reportedly,It is reported that the suggestion of Octavian's stepping down as consul led to rioting amongst the Plebeians in Rome.
      • Your first edit is incorrect, as it changes a perfectly acceptable word into a phrase that is false due to being in the present tense: "it is reported" is simply untrue. "It was reported" would be required for that phrasing, but this is less clear than the original wording. Your second change, "Octavian's", is acceptable, but not preferable; the possessive is unnecessary and confuses the sentence in this context. The last of your three edits here, however, "among", is acceptable—though certainly not necessary, as Wikipedia accepts both spellings, and in fact discourages switching from one spelling system to the other in most cases.
    • "first-leader.".
      • Again, please read Wikipedia's style guidelines on quotations.
    • Additionally, andAs perhaps the most dangerous innovation, Augustus was granted the right to wear the Civic Crown of laurel and oak.
      • Neither version is good grammar. "In" would be the best word for this sentence construction, though probably rephrasing the whole sentence would be even better.
This is only a very short list, many of the above mistakes and other errors were made dozens of times on the pages you've edited. Again, I strongly recommend reading up on Wikipedia's style guidelines before making any more major style edits. -Silence 10:37, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] January 2006

Hi, I didn't find the following addition to Kwanzaa to be very useful, especially considering the difficult history of that page:

One day, the black man decided that he wanted chanukah for himself.
Hence, came the first inspirations of Kwanzaa.

This edit has been reverted. Herostratus 06:08, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To the proofreadrer and co-editor of the article Auxin

Thank you very much for your effort and hard work on this article. You might be interested in cooperation with me on improvement of this article and maybe other articles regarding plant hormones. I very value your contribution to that topic. As I am not native speaker of english, I have still no appropriate sensitivity to that language so I very appreciate that.

So, I wish you, have a good time. And thank you for your good job again --Reo On | +++ 16:55, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
