[edit] Re: Aya Hirano ELs

There's a policy outlined at WP:EL where non-notable fansites are generally not seen as good examples of external links. Any non-notable fansite can publish anything they want, and therefore say anything they want about anyone, but that does not mean Wikipedia can actively trust anything on such sites due to the factual accuracy of the claims. Sources and external links are meant to be peer-reviewed and notable to the point where they are known for the accuracy of what they say. Official websites, since they are self-proclaimed "official" are seen as having the most accurate information available, and seeing how that article already has an official website, I'm not so sure the website I removed would be helpful. However, if you want to still add in the website, I won't remove it again.-- 20:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I guess I see what you mean. Another reason I think it should be there though is because the official site is in Japanese. I will leave it out for now until it becomes more established. I'm glad you were reasonable, my past experience with this type of incident has not been as pleasant. --148.61.228.58 01:26, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
