[edit] Welcome
Hello, 148.61.228.15, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.
There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. [edit] January 2008
Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Louisiana Creole people. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you. [edit] Louisiana Creole People article
I don't mean to sound too harsh, but the recent edits you've been making on this page have been generally completely subjective, and the section on "Racial Appearance" is not only unsourced (that "Creole Folks" blog isn't a credible source - I know you know that just because someone puts things in a Typepad blog doesn't mean they're true, and this isn't the first time I've come across that blog), but it's also written in an unencyclopedic manner... we (editors) don't make references like "our own unique gumbo," or say things like "in order to sell a book and turn a buck."
Another thing that was done that I don't really understand is the removal of "Colonial Louisiana French" from the language section of the ethnicity box. But moving on, the notice above says that you've been making significant, controversial edits. These edits are pretty much subjective, as they appear to be the observations of an individual person, the kind of thing that we can't put into an objective source of information like Wikipedia.
I will revert the edits in the near future, because this particular article cannot afford these fairly regular injections of opinion from editors who seem to have trouble not seeing the page as a soapbox of sorts or some kind of personal platform. I have been involved with this page for quite some time, and it's quality has gone down drastically as it has grown, as I've noted on that article's talk page. --Défenseur (talk) 05:43, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
