[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 20:46, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi, im Jamal Thompson, and i seriously think Shadow the hedgehog is african american. Please respect my opinions in this matter.
Im also not a vandal, because I've never done anything vandalic, and i have contributed a lot to this community. 148.201.1.111 13:53, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- You were asked many times to list a source describing why you think Shadow The Hedgehog is black. Because the color black doesn't always mean African. For instance, if a crayon or marker are black colored, does that make them an African Crayon and an African Marker?--Antiyonder 13:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Angry Video Game Nerd deletion
My apology for getting angry earlier, but could you specify why it should be deleted? Is it just because you do not like the AVGN? I mean, I don't care that much about Chris Crocker, but that doesn't mean I would approve of deleting the page. It just seems like you have a personal problem with the page and are using the rules to justify your stance. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 23:03, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't hate the angry video game nerd nor internet celebrities. I just think internet celebrities shouldn't be in a serious encyclopedia.
But you're decision to delete the page still seems like a personal decision. Now if he was an obscure internet celebrity I'd understand your reasoning. But he's been on a show and is selling merchandise. Now have you read other comments on the matter, because from your response it seems like you haven't even considered what the other wikipedians are saying. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 02:28, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Never forget!!Chetblongtalk to me 01:29, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Jamal Thompson: How can I contact an administrator. Im not vandalizing anything. I really think the angry videogame article is not worth to be on Wikipedia. SO as other internet celebrity entries.
Besides im already blocked of editing. This is so unfair. I just wanted to follow the american dream of editing wikipedia and you stoped it, because you think an internet celebrity deserves a page?
Here is why you are in trouble, as it seems nobody really told you...well it seems they did but you didn't read. You are not allowed to blank content without the consent of the community one your block has been lifted please edit constructively and on the discussion page of the article ask permission to re-write the page. I am NOT an administrator I am just trying to help you understand your situation and how to avoid getting another block. I will not reply to any messages left on my talk page or yours. Have a good day and I hope I helped you some for when you are allowed to edit again. Rgoodermote 01:57, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing.
So, your true reason for deleting the page is jealousy then, correct? After all if you can't create an article, then it is better to delete one that someone worked hard on doing. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 08:54, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to User talk:148.201.1.111, you will be blocked from editing. —Jonathan | Quality, not quantity. 17:05, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
[edit] You rang?
You've mentioned wanting to contact an admin. I am one. If you detail your problems on this page, I'll try to solve them by talking things out rather than the mix of blunt force and persistence that is oh-so-tempting online. I've dropped the page's protection so that you can respond, but keep in mind that changing others' comments is still stringently forbidden. Right off the bat, it should be noted that administrators are not supposed to be a ruling class, nor monolithic in their opinions. A few dozen people evaluated me and found that I could be trusted to wield some options too powerful for the general public without blowing up anything of consequence. I am only required to be competent while using them, though in case of any misdeeds I will pretty much be expected to know better.
A word of warning: I suck at punctuality, due both to procrastination and a spectacularily backfired attempt to test ADHD medication to see if it's caused by that; the latter was a lot less interesting than it sounds. I will still try to respond promptly. --Kizor (talk) 02:45, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Jamal Thompson: I don't understand why there are wikipedia entries of internet celebrities. This is quite contrary to the natural values of wikipedia! Or what? will you guys allow people to make an entry of every jackass that appears in youtube?
Wikipedia was supposed to be a serious encyclopedia, not this trash.
My suggestion: delete all internet celebrity entries. Im not a vandal, I just want to contribute. But people don't care about what I say, so I deleted angry videogame nerd to get attention to my comments about internet celebrities and other useless entries that shouldn't be on wikipedia.- In preparation of an actual useful answer, I've formatted your messages in this section according to talk page conventions. You're not actually required to follow them, but they do make discussion a lot more pleasant and easier to read. Indents are determined by the number of :'s at the start of a paragraph, and affect that paragraph. If an indented message has more than one, the best way to prevent indentation from resetting is by using the HTML line break, also known as the <br> - tags visible while editing this section. (This takes a moment to get used to, so if you decide to use this method the preview button will be your friend.) --Kizor (talk) 01:42, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Of course we're not going to allow that. Besides the lack of information value, it would be ridiculously hard to navigate and maintain. At the same time, we clearly need to cover some of the things online. There are rules governing where to draw the line; ones that are mostly concerned with the coverage an online thing has received in reliable sources, to verify both the facts of the matter and its significance. I've reviewed the references available for the Angry Video Game Nerd - multiple featurings on a Canada-wide talk show, magazine articles, a stint or two on TV - and found them an eclectic bunch, not yet fully integrated into the article, but sufficient. The show is justified in having its own article.
That's where we stand. A discussion about what the core principles are and why articles on internet celebrities are a good thing will have to be rather more complicated. To start with: Since you reject such articles' worth as coverage of the people themselves, consider that they can be of value in such fields as IT ethics, online communication and media studies. --Kizor (talk) 18:14, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- "Will you guys allow people to make an entry of every jackass that appears in youtube?" If the youtuber in question has had television and/or radio appearances, then they are qualified for mentions on wikipedia. Now if the person's exposure is strictly on youtube, then your actions would be right. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 23:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

- Sir, your harassment is making me uncomfortable. Please leave. --JackThompson (talk) 03:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I made that comment before our dispute yesterday. Not my fault if you didn't notice it. And I thought your name was Jamal Thompson. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 05:01, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
And besides, considering you tried to make me look racist, you have no right to complain: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:148.201.1.111&oldid=173126322 71.115.192.199 (talk) 06:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Jamal Thompson on days, Jack Thompson on lawyer days. ZING. --JackThompson (talk) 19:58, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, but since the question is on topic here, why did you alter my comments to make me look racist? 71.115.192.199 (talk) 20:26, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Look racist? why. Im black, I'm not a racist. JackThompson (talk) 03:20, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
You were trying to make me look racist, not yourself. 71.115.192.199 (talk) 03:19, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
