The guy is obvoiusly an internet troll. Who in their right mind thinks that football is not football? I do not go onto soccer pages in general and try to diminish the sport, but he insults the Australian nation continually. It is vandalism.

Rugby League

On Wikipedia, the consensus is to call Rugby League, "Rugby league" so that the 99% of the planets population who have never heard of the sport know what you are talking about. Tancred 10:49, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Not the consensus that I have read. The consensus was to use football or rugby league football where the type of football is in doubt.

I have only been editing for a handful of days. I am not sure how you/Dibo would try to assert otherwise. You are obviously a sockpuppet of Dibo.

Your edits are the same as other users. user:Ehinger222 is one example. User:Okay_that_does_not_make_sense is another. Football Premiers

In the A-League, the team that finishes top of the league is called the Premiers. not the "Minor Premiers". Please don't edit things you know nothing about.Tancred 12:28, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Provide a link and I will believe it, but they have copied everything else from Australian football competitions and the phrase has been used on foxtel, so until than I will revert it.

From here [2], both terms, minor premiers and premiers are used. Also here [3] at the official Sydney site it refers to minor premiers.

Full points footy is reputable. A quick examination proves that. Red faced too about the editorship thing, I just assumed that it was a fact because I remembered them changing it about the same time as last year's soccer qualifyer, thought it was backed up by the previous user's assertions and just thought that it was a typically English thing to do so I assumed it was fact.

Quite right Dibo. Assumed is not good enough, and I got that wrong. But it would have taken nothing less than solid evidence to convince me otherwise because I was so sure of it from memory. I must of just noticed the soccer=football thing around that time.
I would say there are some major problems with the article on "fullpointsfooty" Interesting, is it not, that those countries where soccer is least popular are former British dominions: Australia, NZ, South Africa, India, Ireland, Canada and the USA? is a good example. It's clear the author has some gaps in his knowledge. Football is the number one 1 sport in South Africa for the black population (by far the majority), and they are about to host the world cup. FNB Stadium, a football specific stadium where the Kaizer Chiefs play, will be expanded to hold 104,000 fans next year. In India football is very popular. India will probably host the 2011 Asian Cup and the BBC has claimed that domestic football is bigger than domestic cricket,[7] but of course the Australian media would never report that would they?. Ireland is another country that loves football. Yes their domestic league draws small crowds, but the pubs are heaving with fans watching football from England and elsewhere, and many kids run around in replica shirts. Yes I know of the Irish love of soccer and particuarly Liverpool, Man U, and most obviously Celtic, but it is nowhere near the level of their passion for Gaelic football outside the north and Dublin(that is if in fact northern Ireland is part of Ireland and not a part of Britain???) and rugby union has made decent inroads through the H-cup and 6 "nations". Never heard of soccer in India before that article and found it a bit gratituous... if soccer is so big, than where is the league to match it?
