[edit] The Faint

I'm sure that some of your edits are useful, and should stay, but you've mixed them up with a lot of edits that change the article from good style to bad (for example, the very first sentence involves a change from the correct use of bold for the band's name to its being turned into a self-referential link). Please add new content, but don't mess around with the formatting until you've familiarised yourself with Wikipedia style. If you're going to do much editing here, then:

Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires you to provide no personal information, and gives you many benefits, including:

  • The use of a username of your choice
  • The ability to view all your contributions via a "My contributions" link
  • Your own user page
  • Your own talk page which, if you choose, also allows users to send you messages without knowing your e-mail address
  • The use of your own personal watchlist to which you can add articles that interest you
  • The ability to rename pages
  • The ability to upload images
  • The ability to customize the appearance and behavior of the website
  • The eligibility to become an administrator
  • The right to be heard in formal votes and elections, and on pages like votes for deletion

We hope that you choose to become a Wikipedian and create an account. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:34, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

You've just made a mess of the article again, with the edit summary "Stop reverting it, without reason". I've given you my reason (above). Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:03, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your contribution, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the Sandbox to get started. Thank you. KJS77 17:06, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Please stop introducing jokes into articles. Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia, and contributions of this type are considered vandalism. Continuing to add jokes and other disruptive content into articles may lead to you being blocked from editing. KJS77 17:09, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
