Hi 130.126.224.132, I notice that you are editing uranium trioxide - please don't neglect the nonsence there on UO3 gas it's pure B.S. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DV8 2XL (talk • contribs)
Hi, with regards to UO3 gas. I think that it is very unlikely that much of the uranium from a metal fire would ever be converted into a gas which would be mobile (more than a few cm at 1 bar), if you check the literature you will find that U3O8 is very stable at high temps in air (>>1000 oC) also it states in one good nuclear chemistry text that the majority of the Pu from the fuel of an atom bomb will be converted into a ceramic like oxide (PuO2). If an a-bomb is only able to convert its Pu metal to solid oxide then it is unlikely that a simple uranium fire will be able to make UO3 gas. If you want the reference, I can provide you with it (Just ask me on my talk page).Cadmium
